Where is Framlingham?
Located about 15 miles from the coastal resort of Aldeburgh, Framlingham is north of Ipswich, and around 2 hours' drive from north London.
Travelling by car
Framlingham is about 6 miles from the A12 running north from Ipswich. The Cottage has its own designated parking space adjacent to the property. Approximate driving times are:
- from M25/M11 junction - around 1 hour 30 minues
- from Stansted Airport - just over 1 hour
- from Norwich - around 1 hour
Travelling by train
Unfortunately (care of Dr Beeching) the railway station is Framlingham is no more! However, there are some alternatives - with approximate driving times:
- Wickham Market (15 minutes drive) - trains from Liverpool Street take just under 2 hours
- Ipswich (30 minutes drive) - trains from Liverpool Street take just over the hour
- Stowmarket (40 minutes drive) - direct trains from Peterborough take 1.5 hours
Taxis can be pre-booked from Wickham Market station, and there is a local bus service from Ipswich.
Where is The Cottage?
The Cottage is centrally located in Framlingham in a secluded lane, allowing you to walk to all the shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. The centre of Framlingham and Framlingham Castle are both marked below and are about 5 minutes walk apart.
